Article Should christians pray that their enemies die?
Q: Should Christians pray that their enemies (witches/wizard)and those that cause great pain to their life’s die?
Let us look at the Bible as our foundation. In Exodus 22: 18 The Lord said: “You shall not permit a sorceress (witch) to live.(Nkjv).
Matt 5:11-12: "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you (Nkjv).
Matt 5: 17-19: “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets, (Old Testament) I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Nkjv)
Matt 5: 43-44 Jesus said: "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, (Nkjv).
Isaiah: 55: 8-11: "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways," says the Lord. 9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 "For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven. And do not return there. But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
There are many verses in the Bible that proves that Gods Words never change.
So we have seen from the Exodus 22:18 that killing witches (our enemies) is God’s law (permitted until now) and there is nowhere in the entire Bible that proved that God has changed that law.
Jesus said in Matt 5:11-12, 43-44 that we should love our enemies, do good to them and pray for them and for those Christians that say that do not pray that your enemy should die, but love them pray for them and forgive them, they are also right.
Jesus said in Matt 5:17-19 that He did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it, so from this Bible context you would agree with me that those Christians that pray that their enemy should die are right in their prayer.
If both are right why then is this issue causing a great division in the church of Jesus Christ?
